"If this was for humans...would this be something I'd wear?"

I asked myself this question again and again as I searched all over for clothes and accessories for my dog Ollie. If I wouldn’t dress myself in tacky, low-quality, or mass-produced clothes, then why would I for my dog? Well, turns out there’s nothing on the market for someone like me approaching dog clothes from a human perspective. So, I started laēlap a clear vision in mind: to bring human values to pet wear. Together, let’s aspire for higher standards.

    laēlap was conceptualized by dog-lover Hanna Kang on a trip to her birthplace, the city of Seoul, South Korea.

    While there at the dog fashion capital of the world, Hanna couldn’t help but notice... the way dogs were dressed to be a reflection of their owner’s style. As a natural creative, Hanna knew she had to try this for herself.

    Upon returning home to the United States, Hanna began the search to find clothes for her dog that... could capture her personal style. Instead, she found no end to poorly-made dog clothes with tacky designs, mass-produced at the expense of the planet. It became apparent that there was nothing on the market for her.
